Dell has been talking about all the money it has managed to make on Twitter – some $6.5 million, according to the company’s Chief Blogger, Lionel Menchaca.
Apparently Dell’s following on social networking sites has grown to 3.5 million people, 1.5 million of whom are followers of the @DellOutlet account on Twitter. Granted, the figure of $6.5 million doesn’t look quite so hefty when stacked up against the sort of total revenue Dell brings in, some $60 billion. But still, it’s impressive enough, and will no doubt give other less dedicated tweeting technology companies something to think about.
Dell’s Twitter presence in other countries is also expanding. Menchaca said: “Our Brazilian and Canadian accounts are growing rapidly too. In less than a year, @DellnoBrasil has already generated nearly $800,000 in product revenues.” “Similarly, @DellHomeSalesCA has surpassed $150,000 and is increasing at notable pace.”
