‘Sudden Failure’ Takes Twitter Down — Again

Twitter attributed its 90-minute outage Wednesday to “sudden failure” — whatever that means — followed by problems switching to a backup system, reports PCWorld.com. The company said no data was lost during the time the site was “largely inaccessible” and there had been no security breach, according to InformationWeek.

According to monitoring company Pingdom Twitter was down for 17 minutes in July, more than six hours in August,  33 minutes in September, more than five hours in October, 22 minutes in November and more than two hours in December.
